WHO NEEDS THETECHNOLOGY?
The sticky notes are used by all the students in the classroom. They are used for asking questions, writing down understandings, thoughts, and text to???
They are used for participating in whole class discussions on KWL, FQR, and VIP charts

WHAT DOES THE RESEARCH SAY ABOUT ITS EFFECTIVENESS?
The research is not on the sticky notes themselves but on the on going debate over phonics vs. whole language approach.
The sticky notes is the tool most commonly used in many schools to achieve the goals of balanced literacy that are expected in the school.
HOW WILL IT HELP LEARNING AND PARTICIPATION IN THE INCLUSION CLASS?
For the inclusion student it keeps them focused and on task. We give all the students certain tasks – skill of the week or vocabulary and the sticky notes tend to keep the inclusion as well as the other students on the task at hand. Many of the inclusion students, especially in the beginning, do not participate in the class discussions but with the sticky notes they can put their responses, questions, or answers on the chart, see what the other students are doing and immediately be included in the discussion with out having to go out on a limb and open their mouths.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
My recommendation is to use the sticky notes in all the subjects. The students get used to using them and it is an easy way for the teacher to asses the students by collecting the sticky notes with their notes, assignments or anything they are doing in the class. I use them in social studies for things the students so not understand or vocabulary.

I use these all the time when I am teaching reading comprehension skills. As the students read through their books I have them make notes on their "Predictions", "Questions", Text to self/text/world connections, etc. This way when the whole class comes together all the students have the answers written and ready to share them as well as the original text that prompted the strategy usage. Eventually the students can start writing these notes into a reading journal, but the sticky notes are a great introduction to the skills and it is much less threatening to the student than keeping a journal.
I should start using them for Soanish vocabulary. My students don't seem to retain very much of it. But how do they retain it? They write the vocabulary word on the sticky note and then what? I usually have them take the vocabulary word home and have them write sentences, but still the next day they are still asking me what is "vestido" . I also write a dialogue with the workd and have them asnwer questions. Yet they still don't remember. jeanne
Sticky notes can also be used for brainstorming strategies and even website navigation paths, as in the business world. For example, last year a group of 4th graders was finalizing the navigation plan for their website about iguanas. Using a white board as the "canvas", the students each entered the name of each of their pages on a sticky note. We then started with the home page sticky at the top of the tree, and arranged the pages to be available directly from the home page under it. We used the dry erase marker to draw the arrows representing the links. The students really had fun with it, and it helped them better understand similar diagrams they had worked on in Inspiration. I must admit, the navigation they came up with that way was different from what I'd envisioned, but their group decisions won me over.
I have had my students in an ELA class use sticky notes. The biggest complaint is that the notes often fall out of the notebooks. Is there a better solution? Or is there a better sticky note out there to use?
I have seen many use of post-it or sticky paper. I plan on using it specially in plotting data and create a graph, specially a bar graph. It is colorful, attractive, eye catching and it really helped in making the data presentation excellent. I had an experience using it in math in one of the class I attended in Hunters College. It's the most simpliest tool I have come to know.
